Hacking Your Notebook
This is a project I participate in through a partnership with National Writing Project's Educator Innnovator cohort, as well as with the technological work and workshops provided by NEXMAP consultants and the original ideas of Dr. Jie Qi, a recent graduate of MIT and an MIT Media Lab innovator. I have had the privilege of working with some other amazing innovators over the years who also participate and create in this work: David Cole, Paul Oh, Jeannine Huffman, Kate Hodges, my very good friend Anna Marie Warren, and hopefully soon, Natalie Freed. Many of their resources are below!

"Hacking the Notebook" means remixing or "hacking" your traditional notion of a reading and writing notebook used in any subject, and involves the "illumination" of ideas using simple, inexpensive materials to create flat circuitry and literacy connections.

"HYN" work can be integrated into any discipline and can be used to help shift paradigms of both educators and students into one of more disciplinary literacy connections, using production-centered learning, human-centered design, maker-based activities, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and 21st century competencies.
